Description: Brian Burt of Lyle’s Barber Shop in Portland, Oregon, gives a traditional Gentleman’s Haircut and hair styling tips. Brian shares how to style the hair two ways using different hair products. Lyle’s Barber Shop, tucked away in Portland's North Tabor neighborhood, has been open for three years yet has the look and feel of an old-style community barbershop from the 1960s. With Lyle’s Barber Shop, Brian shares his love and appreciation of traditional barbershops that goes back years before he trained to become a barber. Brian told us, “I hold barbering in a very high regard. I take my trade very seriously.”⁠   Brian said Portland didn’t really have many traditional barbershops. So he opened Lyle’s Barber Shop which is named after his grandfather who always dressed impeccably and gave Brian a lot of life lessons. This was Brian’s way of paying homage to his grandfather who was “just a great human being.” The thing Brian likes the most about barbering is the connection he makes with each client and barber he works with.
